The National Pavilion of Paraguay : The Power of an Idea that unifies
Initiated and supported by Elisa Victoria Aquino Laterza since December 2010. She presented the idea of a Paraguay Pavilion to the Ministers of Culture and Foreign Affairs. The idea of Paraguay’s own space in Venice Biennale continued and developed during last 2 years under the leadership of its Commissioner and the support of enterprises, individuals and Government officials.

Commissioner Elisa Victoria Aquino Laterza, former diplomat and supporter of the arts, education and culture of Paraguay around the world, is now expecting that the country unifies around this idea that still requires the support of the media and additional funding from public and private sources, wishing that these will be the first of many Paraguayan participations in the whole cultural panorama of the Venice Biennale.

We are honored to be guided and supported in Venice by Arch. Tiziano Inguanotto and the studio Arbur Italia. Their commitment to art and their support for Paraguay’s international art scene is crucial; added the Commissioner.

The Paraguay Pavilion at the Venice Biennale will be a historical event becoming the first participation with a National own personal space . The Paraguay Pavilion is born with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of Paraguay in Italy and particularly H.E. Ambassador of Paraguay Ms. Ana Baiardi.
