From 24 May to 29 September 2013, in conjunction with the 55th Venice International Art Exhibition, Galleria Massimodeluca proposes its first show to feature international artists entitled, Yellowing of the Lunar Consciousness.

The exhibition, curated by Andrea Bruciati, will be held in two sites: the Mestre based gallery (via Torino 105/q) will be working in partnership with the Palazzo Bonvicini in Venice (Santa Croce 2164). There will also be two openings: Thursday 23 May at Galleria Massimodeluca and Friday 31 May at Palazzo Bonvicini.

The exhibition, which follows on from exhibitions focused on photography (Enten-Eller, Teresa Cos) and performance art (The Crisis and a Crisis in the Life of an Actress, Nicola Ruben Montini) will bring painting once more to the fore at Massimodeluca. The artists who have been invited to participate in the exhibition, will be placed in dialectical relationship, inviting comparisons of their artistic vision and work, whether they use the most traditional of materials, the canvas, or other supports.

The artists chosen to participate were all born in the 1980s and include: Paola Angelini, Marco Basta, Juliette Bonneviot, Mihu? Bo?cu Kafchin, Tomasz Kowalski, Melissa Gordon, Dario Pecoraro, Gianni Politi, Florian & Michael Quistrebert, Matthieu Ronsse, James Ryan,Giovanni Sartori Braido, Vito Stassi e Joris Van De Moortel. The Galleria Massimodeluca exhibition is a project of exchange, communication and close collaboration, placing artists who have yet to participate in an exhibition of this scale alongside artists who have already been on the international exhibition circuit for some time.

In Bruciati’s curatorial project, the painting is seen as a dialectical space between the artistic ideal and its actual painted form, a transformation which involves both alchemy and craftsmanship and which is lived by the artists as an ongoing investigation into the practice of painting itself, and so into their own personal mythology.

“During the Biennale, Venice becomes the meeting point for the world of contemporary art, and Galleria Massimodeluca wants to offer an exhibition with an international flavour during this period,” –explains the Gallery’s manager, Marina Bastianello –“while still focusing on showcasing and promoting artists under the age of 30.”

Dal 24 maggio al 29 settembre 2013, in concomitanza con la 55. Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte di Venezia, la Galleria Massimodeluca presenta il suo primo progetto espositivo con autori internazionali, dal titolo Yellowing of the Lunar Consciousness.

L’esposizione, a cura di Andrea Bruciati, si strutturerà su due sedi: alla Galleria di Mestre (via Torino 105/q) si affiancherà per l’occasione Palazzo Bonvicini a Venezia (Santa Croce 2164). Doppia sarà anche l'inaugurazione: giovedì 23 maggio alla Galleria Massimodeluca, venerdì 31 maggio a Palazzo Bonvicini.

La mostra, dopo la fotografia (Enten-Eller, Teresa Cos) e la performance (The Crisis and a Crisis in the Life of an Actress, Nicola Ruben Montini) riporta al centro del progetto espositivo della Massimodeluca la pittura: gli artisti invitati saranno messi in un rapporto dialettico sulla base della loro visione e resa del più tradizionale dei supporti, la tela, o ciò che ne fa le veci.

Tra gli artisti selezionati, tutti nati negli anni ’80, vi sono: Paola Angelini, Marco Basta, Juliette Bonneviot, Mihu? Bo?cu Kafchin, Tomasz Kowalski, Melissa Gordon, Dario Pecoraro, Gianni Politi, Florian & Michael Quistrebert, Matthieu Ronsse, James Ryan, Giovanni Sartori Braido, Vito Stassi e Joris Van De Moortel. Quello della Galleria Massimodeluca è un progetto di scambio e stretta collaborazione che vede, accanto ad autori alla loro prima esperienza di rilievo, l'intervento di pittori attivi già da anni nei circuiti espositivi internazionali.

Nel progetto curatoriale di Bruciati, il quadro viene concepito come spazio dialettico tra ideale artistico e sua resa nel concreto fare pittorico, una trasformazione dal sapore alchemico e artigianale vissuta dagli artisti selezionati come metodo di indagine continua sulla pratica pittorica stessa, e quindi sulla loro personale mitologia.

«Venezia nel periodo della Biennale diventa il centro del mondo dell'arte contemporanea, e la Galleria Massimodeluca ha voluto proporre per quel periodo una mostra che avesse un respiro internazionale – spiega la direttrice dello spazio espositivo, Marina Bastianello – ma sempre nel segno della ricerca e della promozione di artisti under 30».
