Lee Sook-kyung, research curator of Tate Research Center, has been selected to curate the Korea Pavilion of the 2015 Venice Biennale, while duo artists Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho have been chosen to represent the Korean Pavilion, according to the Korea Arts Council.

The selection was made based on recommendations by a committee of seven art experts and interviews with candidates.

Lee has curated numerous exhibitions, including those of Korean media artist Nam June Paik and American media artist Doug Aitken when she worked at Tate Liverpool. She is also expected to curate the exhibition of a new Nam June Paik collection recently purchased by Tate.

Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho are media and installation artists whose collaborative works were featured in the Kassel Documenta, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious contemporary art fairs in Germany, in 2012.

The duo was named the artist of the year by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea in 2012.

The 56th Venice Biennale is scheduled to be held next year in Venice from May 9-Nov. 22.
