Safina Radio Project Venice Biennale 2015 6-8 May

Alserkal Avenue Presents Safina Radio Project on the Canals and Waterways of Venice During the Opening of the 56th Venice Biennale, May 6 to 8

Commissioned by Alserkal Avenue and curated by Anabelle de Gersigny, the Safina Radio Project is an itinerant space, a boat transformed into a recording studio that navigates the waterways of Venice – transporting passengers from one place to another, acting as a roving platform for conversation and exchange. On board, a combination of programmed travelogues (conversations) and performative works will interrogate artistic practices, inviting a broad spectrum of artists whose practices draw from a variety of social and political contexts.

The online portal, safinaradioproject.org includes the confirmed programming to take place in Venice in May combined with various streams of content commissioned specifically for the portal, from written interviews to audio projects, playlists and sets.
