Naeem Mohaiemen and Raqs Media Collective with Samdani Art Foundation

Samdani Art Foundation congratulates Naeem Mohaiemen and Raqs Media Collective on their participation in the 56th International Art Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia, All the World's Futures.

Naeem Mohaiemen was born in 1969 in London and lives and works in New York. At Dhaka Art Summit 2014 Mohaiemen presented Shokol Chorito Kalponic, a commission that took the form of a freely distributed Bengali newspaper with dystopic news items replaced by alternate realities. The project prefigured the artist's first solo show at the Kunsthalle Basel during Art Basel, June 2014.
Raqs Media Collective comprises Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula and Shuddhabrata Sengupta, all of whom live and work in New Delhi. Raqs were invited to create a ground-breaking public art initiative at the 2014 Dhaka Art Summit in which 160 road signs and billboards across the city were transformed using faces of clocks and the Bengali language. The project, curated by Diana Campbell Betancourt, was installed throughout February 2014, including Bangladesh's International Mother Language Day.

Samdani Art Foundation is a donor for the 56th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia supporting the projects  of Naeem Mohaiemen and Raqs Media Collective.
