During the 2017 Venice art Biennale, the European Cultural Centre will host: "PERSONAL STRUCTURES" at Palazzo Mora and Palazzo Bembo

Exhibitions open on 13 May (Preview 11-12 May) - 26 November 2017.

The European Cultural Centre exhibition "Personal Structures - Crossing Borders"

In the context of la Biennale di Venezia 2015, the European Cultural Centre presents its opening exhibition "Personal Structures - Crossing Borders" in two of its prestigious Palazzo's in Venice, Palazzo Bembo and Palazzo Mora.

The exhibition shows an extensive combination of established artists and artists whose practice is less known. Not only artists who are considered "the best", but a cross section of what can be seen as art today. The artists, although mainly from Europe, come from many different parts of the world and are expressing themselves in various ways. Visually, the artworks may appear very different. Their common ground is the artist's subjective, personal expression of his or her reflection on the concepts Time, Space and Existence.  

The exhibition mainly presents recent artworks by living artists, either site-specific, especially made for this exhibition, or coming directly out of the collection of the artist. Some rooms in the Palazzo's are dedicated to the presentation of a single artist, while other rooms will host a combination of projects and works. Strong statements give each of the rooms a very specific character. The exhibition features a broad variety of artistic media; video, sculptures, paintings, drawings, photos and installations. Since the more than 100 participating artists originate from very diverse cultures representing over 50 countries and are also of very different age, the topics Time - Space and Existence are highlighted from unusual, very personal points of view.  

The EUROPEAN CULTURAL CENTRE exhibition "Personal Structures - Crossing Borders" shows the commonness and differences between Europeans, this in Dialogue with works of Non-Europeans. In addition the exhibition stimulates a more conscious relationship from the spectator towards his daily surrounding aiming to increase the awareness of their own personal Existence as human beings influenced by a specific Culture within Space and Time.

Sabato 4 Giugno - … e si finisce in gloria!

Oggi ultima giornata nella serenissima, per festeggiare ho vissuto la piacevole esperienza del Banchetto di Chun-te alla Scoletta dei Battioro e Tiraoro, un particolare evento ideato dall´artista, che è stato anche responsabile di uno dei migliori ristoranti del mondo.

Una performance in cui il cibo e lo spazio circostante è stato studiato per creare emozioni e forti vibrazioni pari al lavoro fotografico proposto negli spazi.

In mattinata sono stato anche alla Punta della Dogana per la famosa mostra "l´elogio del dubbio" che si conferma come uno dei luoghi più belli della città.

La mostra ha pezzi molto belli, come le opere di Roni Horn o Chen Zhen con tre lavori che vibrano di emozioni.

Il pomeriggio lo spenderò in giro per le calle del centro a rivedere mostre che sono rimaste nel cuore come il Padiglione del Lussemburgo, Padiglione Catalogna e Isole Baleari al S.a.L.E. Docks. "Lech Majewski / Bruegel Suite" nella Chiesa di San Lio o "Personal Structures" a Palazzo Bembo.

Ora riordino le idee e inizio a condividere nei prossimi scritti le mie impressioni per le mostre che più mi hanno entusiasmato.

PERSONAL STRUCTURES

As part of La Biennale di Venezia 2011, "Personal Structures" presents 28 artists from 5 continents, representing 12 countries, brought together in an extraordinary combination. Established artists next to artists whose oeuvre is less known. What they have in common is a dedication to the concepts Time - Space and Existence.

Each artist presents recent artworks, either site-specific, especially made for this exhibition, or coming directly from the artist's studio. Their strong statements give each of the 24 rooms in Palazzo Bembo a very specific atmosphere. Four rooms will present a combination of two artists. The exhibition shows a broad variety of artistic media, such as: videos, sculptures, paintings, photos, installations with light, wallpaper and performance.

Since the participating artists have their origin in diverse cultures and are of very different age, Time - Space and Existence are highlighted from unusual points of view. PERSONAL STRUCTURES therefore will stimulate a more conscious relation from the spectator towards his daily surrounding and help to enlarge the spectator's awareness for his/her own personal Existence as a human being within a specific Space and Time.

The exhibition PERSONAL STRUCTURES is part of an international art project. It was initiated in 2002 by the Dutch artist Rene Rietmeyer, who noticed that even in the most distant corners of the world, there are artists working with Time - Space and Existence, thereby expressing themselves in a very personal way. This observation led to the idea of bringing several of these artists together in publications, exhibitions and symposia.

Palazzo Bembo will be home of the exhibition PERSONAL STRUCTURES. The Palazzo is located in front of the Rialto Bridge, facing the Grand Canal.

The exhibition can be visited at the 900 m2 second floor of Palazzo Bembo, 4 June until 27 November 2011.
